It is the policy of the Justice Administrative Commission to make public records accessible in accordance with Florida Law. We will make a good faith effort to promptly respond to all public records requests. Section 119.07(4), F.S., allows an agency to charge for copies of a public record. The JAC will charge 15 cents per single-side copies for any request where the volume of copies is in excess of 100 copies and an additional 5 cents for each two-sided copy. A special service charge may be assessed for the production of public records when the time involved in responding to a public records request is in excess of 1 hour. If a large amount of data is requested, the Coordinator shall consult with the General Counsel and Executive Director to determine if it is in the best interest of the JAC to require either a deposit, or payment in full of the estimated cost for providing the data requested before any work relative to the request is begun. This determination will be made on a case by case basis. If any advance payment is required, an estimate of the total charge and/or the deposit required will be communicated to the requesting party for their determination as to whether or not they would like the agency to proceed based on the fees communicated. Upon receipt of the payment in the amount required by JAC, staff will begin to compile any records requested. Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address released in response to a public-records request, do not send electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by phone or in writing.
